Aneta Kamińska is a Polish poet and translator of Ukrainian poetry, including Victoria Amelina’s Testimony.

Deeply connected to Ukraine for over twenty years, she has been documenting the war since February 2022 through her series "pokój z widokiem na wojnę" (Room/Peace with a View of War), which already counts over 1,200 poems. Her “poetic diary” captures daily events and emotions, often from a female perspective still rare in Polish literature. Having so far written from a distance, she now seeks to continue this work in Ukraine itself, to witness the war and everyday life more directly and create testimony that speaks to both Polish and Ukrainian readers.

During her residency in Lviv, Aneta wrote around 50 documentary poems documenting daily life in a city far from the front but still affected by war, the massive drone attack on Lviv, the relativity of the sense of safety, and other observations she made about Ukrainians during this time.

Aneta Kamińska

Aneta Kamińska is a Polish poet and performer, editor of anthologies, translator, and promoter of contemporary Ukrainian poetry. She works as a methodology supervisor and teacher of Polish for foreigners, currently at the Warsaw University of Technology, and is a member of the Polish Literary Translators’ Association as well as the Ukrainian and Polish sections of PEN-Club.

Her poetry books include "zapisz zmiany" (Save the Changes, 2004), "czary i mary" (internet version), "autoportret z martwą naturą. Ostatnie wiersze Nazara Honczara napisane przez Anetę Kamińską" (Self-Portrait with a Still Life. Poems by Nazar Honchar written through Aneta Kamińska, 2018), which was nominated for the Nike Literature Award in Poland, "więzy krwi" (The Blood Ties, 2018), "teraz zaraz" (2022), "wschodniki / zachodniki "(2022), "pokój z widokiem na wojnę" (Room with a View to a War, 2023), nominated for the Orpheus Poetry Award in Poland, "pokój z widokiem na wojnę 2" (Room with a View to a War 2, 2024), and "pokój z widokiem na wojnę 3" (Room with a View to a War 3, forthcoming).
