Karolina Gembara is a photographer, researcher and an activist. She has been working on the topic of migration and has carried out projects about the situation on the Polish-Ukrainian and Polish-Belarusian border. Her works often have participatory character and revolve around care and its politics. 

She writes articles about photography and its agency. Gembara is a member of the Sputnik Photos collective and the Archives of Public Protests, and a PhD student at the Film School in Katowice, Poland. She is interested in the topics of ecocide in Ukraine and animal/animal caretakers wellbeing.
