The First Cohort of Scholars in Residence Programme 2026 Announced
This winter and spring, from January to March, we will be hosting three distinguished scholars in Lviv for their month-long residencies:
- Sara Cincurova, a Slovak-born, Ukraine-based journalist whose reporting on human rights, conflict and displacement has been featured in The New York Times, The Guardian, BBC News, Al Jazeera English, and other international media. Cincurova will be working in Lviv in January.
- Ashley Humphrey, a lecturer in the Social Sciences at Monash University, Australia, who holds a PhD in Psychology. His work has focused extensively on the impacts the war in Ukraine has had on people’s lives, particularly the toll it has taken on the mental health and well-being of young Ukrainians. He will continue this research during his residency in February.
- Jason Liu, a Taiwanese journalist, podcaster and non-fiction writer focusing on war, disinformation and democratic resilience. Since the first day of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, he has been reporting extensively from the ground. In March, Liu will be working in Lviv on related projects.
The project is supported by ERSTE Foundation.
