Book Presentation — 5 December
On 5 December, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., please join the presentation of Victoria Amelina’s book, Looking at Women Looking at War, a collection of testimonies by Ukrainian women documenting their experiences during Russia’s full-scale invasion. Ukrainian writer Victoria Amelina was actively working on this book before her life was tragically cut short in a Russian missile strike in Kramatorsk in 2023. After her passing, the book was brought to completion with the support of others, including Sasha Dovzhyk, who will present the book and, in conversation with Sebastian Schäffer, discuss its creation and significance, as well as the responsibility of memory in times of war. They will be joined by Juri Durkot, journalist, publicist, translator and producer from Lviv.
